Kevlar wick:
To create your own juggling equipment or even to replace your wicks on your fire equipment, you will need some wicks. The length you need will vary depending on what you are going to do.
Up to you to define what you will adapt to your fire equipment.
NetJuggler information:
Our wick is assembled in France and meets high quality standards. It is a polymer made up of aromatic rings (benzene) separated by amide groups. It belongs to the group of aramid fibers. Poly-para-phenylene terephthalamide was discovered and marketed under the trade name Kevlar.
Poly-para-phenylene terephthalamide was discovered in 1965 by Stéphanie Kwolek, researcher at DuPont. The company chose to call this polymer Kevlar. It was not until 1971 that the first factory saw the light of day and produced the first kilos of Kevlar.
In order to optimize the lifespan of your wicks, NetJuggler recommends the use of flavorless oil which you will easily find in the majority of supermarkets. Warning, on a 30m reel it can happen that there is a cut and that you do not have the whole reel in a single block of 30 meters. This cannot be predicted. If this might be inconvenient for you, you can call us to see if we have any seamless coils.

Some interesting characteristics of the kevlar:
- Excellent resistance to impact and fatigue.
- Good chemical behavior towards fuels.
- Significant moisture uptake (4%) steaming before impregnation.
- Resistance to fire, (decomposes at 400 ° C).

Hello, I would like to know the weight per m2 of the different ropes, and if you have an estimate of the wet weight that would be even better. (This is to plan for a giant puppet and therefore size it so that it is not too heavy...)
It's more by the meter and not m2.
We are currently preparing a detailed table showing the weight per meter of all the ropes and Kevlar we offer. This tool should be very useful for creating your puppet. Note regarding the use of Kevlar: Although unignited Kevlar is stronger than steel cable of the same diameter, it is important to take certain precautions. When exposed to fire, Kevlar can become brittle, particularly at points where it is subjected to pivoting and twisting. Although it remains strong even after repeated use, its properties are affected by heat at pivot points. We advise you to take this information into account when handling and using Kevlar in your projects.
