Qu-Ax aluminum 114mm cranks:

Standard aluminum cranks for square axis. Lighter than steel cranks. Item sold in pairs.

Technical characteristics:

  • System: square axis.
  • Material: aluminum.
  • Colour: chrome.
  • Length: 114mm.
  • Weight of a crank: 140 g.

114mm, a versatile crank ideal for beginners:

114mm cranks are generally used on 20 inch unicycles intended for initiation. Perfect on smooth, level ground. They have the perfect length for a comfortable ride. Their length allows the beginners to exercise good control over their wheel and thus maintain good balance. Experienced unicyclists will have a preference for shorter cranks (flat / smooth ground).

We made a little manual for you! The document is downloadable, with advice and information on how to screw your pedals onto your unicycle:

Information to remember when fitting your cranks: if you fit them the wrong way, you will damage the threads of the cranks and the pedals will unscrew by themselves while you're riding. Make sure the crank marked R is on the right and the L is on the left!

Types of use of the square crank:

A square crank is suitable for strolling. They will be suitable for occasional use. These are usually the cranks on beginner, family unicycles. In circus schools, they are also found on multipurpose Luxus / Only One unicycles. Be careful, however, they are not suitable if you do jumps with your unicycle. From time to time you will need to check their tightness. At the slightest jiggle, stop using the unicycle to tighten your cranks. If you practice with a loose crank it will quickly deteriorate and you will need to replace it.

How to change a unicycle crank?

To change a unicycle crank, you will need to equip yourself with a crank extractor. You will also need a 15mm spanner to tighten your pedals on your cranks.

Comment / Question

  1. Answer
Weight of the pair: 176 gr

Since the weight is not indicated, and as this is what makes the difference with steel, which is much cheaper, it is worth indicating it.
