Presentation of Jester diabolos

In the video below I present to you the different Jester diabolos that exist and I also talk about the Jester diabolo with bearings in question here.

Multicolored ball bearing diabolo:

This diabolo can be put in the hands of diabolists wanting to have a good time! In fact, its axis has the particularity of being equipped with a system mounted on ball bearings, giving it an impressive rotation speed. This will make learning the discipline easier and above all make it more entertaining than using a diabolo with a fixed axis.

This bearing system allows the diabolo to have a much higher rotation speed than that which can be obtained with a normal diabolo.

  • The shells of this model are made of soft plastic to limit scratches during outdoor use. The other advantage of this flexibility allows the diabolo to deform when it falls to the ground, thus preventing it from breaking, this is what will differentiate the diabolos that are sold on our site from those that you can find in certain stores games and toys.
  • Its medium-sized shells provide good stability and it is equipped with a wide axle allowing you to do many tricks where the diabolo lands on the fingers or on the sticks.

NetJuggler's opinion on this ball bearing diabolo:

The Jester is a diabolo from the English manufacturer Juggle Dream. This is the least expensive bearing diabolo that we offer in our stores. We decided to add it to our range because we were pleasantly surprised by its performance. Of course it does not equal our range of bearing diabolos made in Germany (by the manufacturer Henrys). But it will give complete satisfaction to beginners wishing to discover the discipline. We really appreciate the fact that this model is multi-colored, which will allow beginners to clearly visualize the rotation of the diabolo and thus facilitate their learning.

Features of the Jester bearing diabolo:

  • Diameter: 118 mm.
  • Height: 141mm.
  • Axle: ball bearing.
  • Wide axle: 10 mm.
  • Mass: 315 g.
  • A black and white color code on each side of the axis allows you to determine the direction of use of the diabolo.

For what type of practice?

This model, the rolling Jester, is rather medium in size with a relatively heavy weight for its size. This large mass will give it excellent inertia. It will therefore be suitable for children, teenagers and adults alike.

NetJuggler Tips:

If you're a beginner, NetJuggler recommends taking a spool of string with your order. Indeed, beginners with sharp and jerky movements wear out the strings very quickly, in a few hours, whereas the same string could last several weeks for an experienced diabolist. This can save you from paying shipping costs again when your string is worn out.

NetJuggler info on bearing diabolos:

If you are not familiar with ball bearing diabolos, the principle is as follows: once your diabolo gains speed, it will maintain it much longer than a diabolo with a normal axle. Here are some of the advantages:

  • Longer rotation time than a normal diabolo.
  • Possibility of chaining together numerous figures without having to re-accelerate your diabolo.
  • Wide axle to facilitate many tricks.
  • Minimal friction between the axle and the sticks during grinds/slides.
  • Limits friction when practicing the vertax (vertical axis of the diabolo).

Some disadvantages or limitations of ball bearings : it becomes impossible to do all the figures based on the elevator. These bearing diabolos are not made for practicing with several diabolos (except vertax), because they will turn too quickly on the string compared to diabolos equipped with normal axles. It may be necessary to change the bearing system once the bearing balls show wear, which of course never happens on a normal diabolo!

    • Answer
      Re: question

Fiberglass rods are sturdy and can be used intensively.

They have a certain flexibility compared to aluminum rods which will be rigid.
