For what type of practice?
If you are a beginner at bolas or if you have a "small build", then the 80mm bolas may be more interesting for you. They will be less heavy and therefore less tiring to handle. Beginners are generally less looking for "perfection" in movements and are more entertained by a dynamic playing style. In this case, the 80mm bolas will suit you better.
They are interesting for practicing at speed, but will allow you to be less precise, especially on stops and for practicing in a very gentle style, because there is little weight at the ends of the bolas.
Tips for choosing the size of bolas:
Contact balls come in 3 different sizes: 80mm, 90mm and 100mm. Why these 3 sizes?
Choosing the size is above all a question of taste, but here are some tips to help you choose one size rather than another.
- The 100mm balls are the most interesting for integrating contact and especially for making clean saves.
This is the number 1 choice for people who practice seriously. Visually, we can go further thanks to the significant mass of the bolas. Physically, they will be more tiring to use, hence a lighter 90mm version. The 100mm bolas (Gigas) The 90mm is popular among smaller people and women, as the 100mm may be too heavy for some people. 90mm bolas .
