Bolas Manip:
Pair of bolas assembled with 80mm stage (contact) balls. The weight of each ball is 150 g.
The Manip bolas (contact bolas or contact poi) represent the latest innovation in bolas. They are ideal for isolations, throws and for contact with body rolls.
The handle used on our PRO version is made of silicone . Its dimensions make it a fantastic handle (diameter 40 mm). It's the perfect counterweight for your free throws.
Characteristics of PRO contact balls:
- Ball diameter: 80mm.
- Mass of a ball: 150g.
- Mass of a bolas: 195g.
- Weight of a complete pair: 390g.
- String length: 50cm, adjustable .
- Total length: 60cm, adjustable.
- String thickness: 6mm.
- Type of Handles: SILICONE.
- Handle length: 4cm.
NetJuggler Tip:
The rope has a diameter of 6mm and a length of 50cm. To adjust the length of the rope, simply pull the rope at the handle, tie a simple knot and cut off the excess.

There is no standard length, everyone has their own preferences. That said, if you are a beginner, if you put the handles in your hands, ideally the bolas head should reach under your armpit.
For what type of practice?
If you are a beginner at bolas or if you have a "small size", then the 80mm bolas may be more interesting for you. They will be less heavy and therefore less tiring to handle. Beginners are generally less interested in "perfection" in movements and have more fun with a dynamic playing style. The 80mm bolas will suit you more.
They are interesting for practicing at speed, but they will not allow you to be precise, especially on stops and for practicing in a very gentle style, because there is little weight at the ends of the bolas.
Tips for choosing the size of bolas:
The contact bolas exist in 3 different sizes: 80mm, 90mm and 100mm. Why these 3 sizes and which ones to choose?
- The 100mm bolas are the most interesting for integrating contact and especially for making clean stops.
It is the number 1 choice for people who practice seriously. Visually we can go further thanks to the large mass of the bolas: the 100mm bolas (Gigas) - Physically giga bolas will be more tiring to use, hence a lighter 90mm version . The 90mm is popular among small people and women: 90mm bolas
Choosing the size is above all a question of taste, but here may be some tips to help you choose one size rather than another.

I've noticed several types of handles, which ones do you recommend? Stick? Balls?
Silicone handles are heavier than other types of handles. This allows the bolas to be used for throwing, as the handles act as a counterweight.
Good morning!
After looking at the pictures of the different sizes of bolas, it seems to me that the 90mm are matte while the 80mm and 100mm are shiny. Is this correct? Are the pictures misleading?
Thank you and have a good weekend!
Indeed, the 90mm have a matte, slightly "peach skin" finish. The mold for the 90 contact bolas is a recent mold that benefits from a better finish than the mold for the 80mm and 100mm balls, which are molds that were purchased a long time ago to originally manufacture stage balls.
The 90mm bolas have a much better finish than the 80mm and 100mm versions.
So the 90mm seems like the best compromise for "beginners" right? Knowing that I know 2-3 basics like weave or other very simple things. And that I am not what you would call a small build :-p What would be your advice?
Oh, and one more question! What size are the bolas the girl in the photo is using? From the looks of it, I'd say 90mm, but I'm not sure since it's not the 80mm size. Just to get a feel for how they look in real life.
In my opinion, the 80mm has its limitations if you intend to get serious about it. Mainly because you can be less precise with the stops.
Most "serious" jugglers practice with 90mm diameter balls. Because they are easy to handle and less heavy than the 100mm ones, which can be tiring to use.
On the other hand, those who have a very good level generally practice with 100mm, because although they are heavier, they are the most manageable and those which allow maximum precision to be achieved, particularly on stops.

My sister (Marie) who practices on the photos uses the 80mm contact pro bolas :-)

I would like to know what type of rope you use to make your poi.
Where can we get some?
THANKS
The ropes used are small cords that are quite easily found in specialist climbing equipment stores.
Really very happy with the product, these manipulation balls are the gateway to juggling technique. No manufacturing defects for mine, durable and everything! Thank you very much!
Is it possible to have the same type of poi but with 100mm instead of 80mm (the contact being more pleasant for me), paying a little more obviously. Thanks in advance.
You can find a 100mm version on our website: Bolas contact 100mm
