Warning: This book is in French. Learn the diabolo while practicing your French !
A book to learn the diabolo:
A book by Mr. Babache himself, inventor of the range of diabolos of the same name. This book allows you to discover the diabolo, even if you have no knowledge about it. Dozens of detailed tricks from 1 to 4 diabolos.
Presentation of the book in video:
The book now has a new cover with Ofek Shilton, a very good diabolist taht you will find in many videos on the internet.
Instructions are given by the Diabolino, a family of 5 diabolist characters who guide you through each step in an entertaining and engaging way. Well presented, this book is recommended for both children and adults.
90 pages of drawings with more than 70 tricks and tips for 1 diabolo, as well as tricks with 2, 3 and 4 diabolos.ISBN 2940065101.
NetJuggler's opinion:
- Many interesting tricks with 1 diabolo.
- Limited tricks with 2 or 3 diabolos.
- If you already have some knowledge of the diabolo, it is advisable to opt for the Diabology DVD instead.
Complete book, well done and coherent to learn the first movements with the diabolo.
If you have purchased a ball bearing diabolo, be aware that this book is intended for diabolos with normal axis instead.
On the other hand, almost all the tricks are the same. There are only the elevator-based tricks that will not work with diabolos equipped with ball bearings (the diabolos will tend to descend along the string instead of up). They are few of these tricks.
There is one thing you should know about bearing diabolos, that is that there is a sense of use: in one direction they work and in the other, they do not. As long as you stick to this, all the learning media will work for you !
It is also good to note that diabolos equipped with bearings are not suitable for practicing with several diabolos. They are indeed much more difficult to use as they spin faster on the string, so it will take a lot more responsiveness to get results.
Is the DVD comprehensive enough regarding learning the 3 diabolos and is it detailed enough?
This media is not a DVD, but a book on learning diabolo. It is intended primarily for beginner diabolo players. Learning the 3 diabolos is not covered in this media.
Hello, I am a beginner at diabolo, I am looking to buy a ball bearing diabolo (the quartz v2) I only have a very small diabolo (small size) it is only a toy (I learned the basics with: acceleration, jumping...) I searched on Google for a site to learn different figures but I found nothing, just 2 diabolos but the videos do not work on my iPad. Do you have a site to suggest to me? And could you also give me names of figures?
THANKS,
YouTube is full of diabolo videos. But the 2diabolos website is indeed well-made; perhaps it would be worth checking it out on a computer. For trick names, the 2diabolos website is also quite comprehensive.
Should I buy this book even if I am a diabolo player?
This book will teach you many tricks, but it does not contain a dedicated section for ball-bearing diabolos. Some tricks explained in the book will not work with a diabolo equipped with bearings.
Are there any apprenticeships for vertax?
No, there's no instructional material for the Vertax in this book, which is primarily aimed at beginners. You'll find what you're looking for in the Planet Diabolo DVD set.
so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best diabolo site I have found is 2diabolos.com
This is the best free diabolo site in my opinion, I learned everything here, everything is clear and well explained!
There you go, happy juggling ;)
Go to 2diabolo.com, you will see, there are all the 1, 2, and 3 DIABOLO figures
As a big fan of MR BABACHE, I really recommend it ;) it's excellent. PLAY is also excellent.
Don't you have a site with drawings rather than videos? It's better to start.
Do you know Google? Go look it up! I'm sure you'll find some things! Otherwise, this book is pretty comprehensive on the 1 diabolo and will help you learn some good basics... Afterwards, the many videos you'll find on the internet will help you get inspired, and there are also conventions and jugglers' meetings... Find out, there may be some near you... There are some all over France every weekend from April to October...
I don't mind paying a lot for a good diabolo with good sticks and everything, but I really prefer to have a good free site to learn. Do you have anything free to recommend to us, please?
To find information on the basics of diabolo, Google will be your friend... For more advanced tricks, I recommend Etienne's site: http://www.jonglage.net
Thank you so much .
PS: to improve your site you should add in the diabolo section "All the diabolo tricks" and put lots of good links there. With a comment section under each link. ;) That would be really nice.
This book is very comprehensive for beginners, it presents many tricks with one diabolo. However, for someone who already practices with several diabolos, for example, there is very little information.
If you already practice well with one diabolo, take a look at Etienne's excellent website: www.jonglage.net for tricks with several diabolos.
