Fiberflies Whip: PixelWhip Rev4

The long strands of optical fibers create a myriad of bright and sparkling light points. The whip is equipped with many strands of different lengths, ranging from 30 cm to 180 cm. The whip has a unique shape and the practice of this discipline is incredibly versatile. There are many manipulations possible thanks in particular to the weight of its handle. The movements where you grab the fibers allow style movements approaching the discipline of poi.

Braid the fibers:

You can even weave or braid the fibers for a different style of play (braided fibers are easier to use).

With two whips, you can practice "Double Whipping" which also allows you to practice with your whips as you would practice with poi.

We appreciate the quality and finishes of this equipment. The grip is comfortable in the hand and the menu navigation is simple. The light modes are numerous and completely psychedelic! When we pull out a whip here at the warehouse during our breaks, it's one of the most counterproductive toys we have! Our breaks are getting way too long! Mesmerizing to use.

Light modes:

The Pixelwhip Rev4 now has 40 colour modes (compared to 17 on the Rev3) divided into 4 groups. The durable handle now includes a soft, grippy foam that can be removed for battery maintenance, and features a single button that turns the Pixel Whip on and off with a long press or cycles through the PixelWhip's 40 colour modes with a short press. The integrated swivel is very smooth and allows you to move the optical fiber in any way imaginable without twisting the strands. The high quality polymer with which optical fibers are made makes them also very wear resistant.

Whip autonomy and charging:

The PixelWhip is powered by a single rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery, which comes with a charger. A full charge will give you up to 8 hours of glow. CAUTION : Unprotected 18650 batteries can damage your PixelWhip. If you buy additional batteries from another source, make sure they have a protected circuit. Your PixelWhip may arrive with the battery inserted upside down to prevent accidental losses of power. When you first receive your PixelWhip, the battery may not be fully charged. To reach maximum capacity, the battery may need to be charged for 8 hours or more.

How quickly and how many fibers you lose depend primarily on how hard you whip. A "violent" practice and you may need a new head every 3 months. It could go up to every two years for those with a milder use.

Some tips to extend the lifespan of your fibers : Abrupt movements of the fiber cause increased fiber breakage. If the whip gets tangled, don't pull on it. Go back the other way until you can release the whip. Avoid hitting with too much force on hard surfaces! Don't walk on the fibers! Jewelry and buckles can break the fibers if they get caught in them. Regularly clean the fibers and use a silicone lubricant. If the fibers are very dirty, you can try 3-IN-ONE All Temperature Silicone Oil.

Remember that fibers can hurt your eyes! Wearing safety glasses is recommended! Not intended for use by children under the age of 14.

Personalize your fibers:

A standard length for a glowing whip is around 180cm, but it depends on your personal preference and the whip style. Short arms? You may prefer a shorter whip. With the replacement fiber heads, you can cut your whip to the length you want. Want to try a new effect on your whip? Try to cut only the longest fibers to keep the full volume of the bundle. Try to cut all fibers the same length so that the spacing is evenly distributed. Mix it up, have fun, create something new for yourself! Try braiding or weaving your fibers into a one or two strand rope. This allows for a more string dart-like and less “wild” style of play. Braided whips are easier to control.
