100% polyester yo-yo string
Item sold in a set of 6 strings.
6 strings set:
Available in several fluorescent colours. 100% polyester string Type 6
The type of string corresponds to the number of fibers that make up the yo-yo string. Thus type 6 corresponds to relatively thin strings which will be adapted to make tricks on the string because the string will be able to cross and re-cross taking up less space, thus avoiding "hiccups". This is primarily a matter of taste, but they are used a lot for the 1A style of play. Thicker strings (type 8 for example) are sometimes used for the 2A playstyle (where we do a lot of loops), as the strings will grip more.
Concerning the colours of the strings, some are better seen and will perhaps facilitate certain tricks because their fluorescent aspect offers a good contrast wherever you practice !
Just like the diabolo strings, it is worth noting that the dyes used on the yo-yo strings also have an influence on the responsiveness of the strings. If you are demanding on your strings it may be interesting for you to try several colours.
In the end your choice will really be based on your tastes. It's up to you to try and see which string suits you best.
Henrys rubber ring included in the bag.
In this bag you will find a small rubber ring which is compatible with all Henrys brand yo-yos. It is a spare part which is positioned at the level of the axis as in the photo below. The yo-yo on the photo is only to illustrate the positioning of the ring, the yo-yo is not supplied with this bag of string :-).
NetJuggler's tips:
Which string to choose ?
Yo-yo strings exist in polyester or cotton.
Polyester fibers are not natural, they are rather stiff. They are therefore much more robust than cotton fiber strings.
Cotton yo-yo strings are more fragile, they will last less time but they are softer and allow a better feeling of the yo-yo.
Change a yo-yo string:
The yo-yo appearing in the photo is not supplied with the bag of string, it is only used for the explanation of how to change the string :-)
- 1 - Take the end of the string where there is no loop.
- 2 - Untwist the string to create a loop.
- 3 - The loop must be large enough to pass around the yo-yo.
- 4 - Pass one side of the yo-yo in the loop.
- 5 - Keep pressure on the string otherwise it will do weird things.
- 6 - Put the string back on by turning it between the fingers on itself in one direction then in the other, in order to find a homogeneous twist.
Adjust the length of the string:
When your yo-yo is on the ground, the string should reach your belly button. Tie a knot so that you have a loop at the end of the string once you have the right length of string and cut off the excess.
