By ordering this item you will receive two torches with the magnetic system which allows them to be linked together.

Fire swing torch and staff:

These torches are made for the swing discipline. They are not meant to be throwned. Swinging is a discipline where torches are used with movements reminiscent of those practiced with poi or with GRS clubs .

Pair of swing torches which clip together using a magnet system. This means that during a show, you can form a fire staff with a flame at each end.

Each torch is equipped with a Kevlar length of 50cm. It is fixed with two screws, so that it can easily be changed. Note that the lifespan of the Kevlar is excellent. It is difficult to give an accurate estimate on how long wicks will last because it will depend on how you use them, but if you use your torches about once a week you will have several years of juggling ahead of you before you have to change your wicks.

These torches have a silicone sheath on the handle giving them a good grip, while playing a role of thermal insulation. The handles at the ends of the torches allow a good grip with the comfort necessary for performing rotational movements. The handles are made of wood so that they can slide easily in the hand without causing jerks.

Technical characteristics of the torches:

  • Length of a torch: 52cm.
  • Staff length when torches are connected: 104cm.
  • Total mass: 380g.
  • Wicks: Kevlar.

NetJuggler's opinion on the magnetic torches:

  • Pleasant torch to handle.
  • The original wick is of high quality.
  • A good lifespan for this torch.
  • Nice visual.

The fact that you can, in a few seconds, switch from the use of two torches to that of a mini staff allows many new possibilities during shows. The magnetic connection is smooth but powerful enough to use the stick as a staff and even for throws.

Tips for using the magnetic torches:

Gora gives some advice to increase the lifespan of your torches. Professionals are used to this kind of instructions, but we never repeat them enough ...

When you soak your wicks, soak them 3/4, this will give the Kevlar time to absorb all the fuel and prevent it from leaking and running on the silicone. It is important to know that the silicone that makes up the grip of the handles is heat resistant but not flame resistant. Also, be careful not to let fuel run over the handles. This could encourage flames to spread over the silicone grip and cause your grip to warp or wear prematurely.

  • Never use fuel such as White Spirit, Benzene or other alcohol based fuel. Prefer the use of flavorless oil which produces a very yellow so-called "cold" flame. If you have a blue or transparent flame, it means you are using the wrong fuel, so don't push it and check your fuel.
  • Do not hold the torches in a static upright position with wicks facing down when ignited. Always keep them moving or in a horizontal position so that the flames do not damage the structure or the elements of your torches.
  • Do not soak the silicone in the fuel.
