This Monostick is sold individually, complete with a string and ready to use. Diabolo not included. The various diabolos that can be seen in the photos or videos are not included, they are only shown for demonstration on the use of the monostick.

Handstick:

The Monostick is an original juggling accessory whose shape is inspired by the club and the diabolo handstick. A kind of hybrid that can be juggled with and used in combination with one or more diabolos. The monostick was invented by Ameron Rosvall.

3D representation of the monostick:

It's a flexible thermoplastic bow at the end of which is a sturdy metal handle. The whole thing ends with a foam tip.

Guillaume Karpowicz's diabolo video:

The diabolos on the video are not included and the monostick is sold individually.

NetJuggler's opinion:

This new kind of handstick opens up new possibilities for play and invites the jugglers to the diabolo practice - and the diabolists to the juggling discipline. It is the fusion between two very distinct practices. The object is oriented more towards jugglers who already have the basic notions of the diabolo. Basics of club juggling will help but are not mandatory. We are starting to see interesting videos on the internet with this new kind of stick. I have the impression that the possibilities are going to be limitless.

Technical characteristics of the Monostick:

  • Size: 53cm x 32cm x 5cm.
  • Weight: 235g.
  • Designed in collaboration between Ameron Rosvall and Guillaume Karpowicz.

Just for comparison, a Pirouette or Sirus club weighs between 205 and 220 grams.

Try new diabolo tricks with this one-handed accessory. It is recommended to use it with bearing diabolos. The bow can easily be removed from the handle for easy transportation. Several different materials have been tested to ensure a good ratio of flexibility and durability.

The monostick has been designed to be used horizontally. For vertical use, the bow will become unstable due to its flexibility. To speed up the diabolo, use normal diabolo handsticks and transition to the Monostick. An alternative is to tie a string to the handle and use it to speed up the diabolo. Controlling this accessory takes some getting used to and is more difficult than it looks in videos. Good to use for a duo or group tricks.

What kind of use?

The monostick is aimed at experienced jugglers. Without a doubt, a juggling research aid. It will also be interesting to have feedback on the educational aspect of this new kind of accessory.

Instructions:

  • 1. After use, the bow must be sotred flat to preserve its longevity. Flip the coverslip every now and then so that it doesn't just get used in one direction.
  • 2. More pleasant to use with bearing diabolos.

To extend the duration of use of your monostick, it is advisable to tie a knot (present in the photos) which makes it possible to easily undo the string after each use (something Guillaume does to facilitate the transport of the monostick in a backpack) this will not tire the elasticity of the bow.

If you try to break the bow on purpose by hand, unlike other polycarbonate or plastic materials, it does not break, it just deforms. As the monostick is a recent item, we have so far had little long-term feedback. But according to the various experiments and tests which were carried out, it would seem that leaving the monostick constantly under tension is not good.

Maintenance and follow-up of this item:

In the more or less near and undetermined future for now lol, we will market the bows separately, individually, for enthusiasts who have decided to put the monostick to the test. Thank you for your patience while we put this in place.
