Hello, I have a problem with my T5 Overlord from Magic Yo Yo.
it has become responsive knowing that it does not have it as a base I wonder if it is a problem of wear or maintenance.
thanks in advance.
The yo-yo becomes responsive in spite of itself
The fact that the bind is not working as well can come from several things. If the yoyo string is worn, it is possible that it is catching too much on either side of the yoyo. Indeed, as a string wears, it frays and becomes "thicker". The other possibility is that the yoyo took a shock while hitting the ground and that the axle is very, very slightly bent or damaged.
Solutions to overcome this problem
The first thing to try is to change the string. If this does not solve the problem, then there may be a problem with the axle or one of the yoyo's shells. You should know that an aluminum yoyo is flexible. You can hit it 20 times on the ground without anything happening, but you can also hit it once on the ground to damage it. The first thing to do when you receive a yoyo is to remember to adjust the length of the string correctly because if it is too long, you considerably increase the risk of the yoyo hitting the ground and thus transforming an irresponsive yoyo into a responsive yoyo, or even breaking the yoyo completely.
What length of string for your yo-yo?
When the yoyo is on the ground in front of you or in a standing position, the string should reach the level of the person practicing's navel :-).
