Contact Balls
NetJuggler acrylic balls are available in several sizes. Smaller diameters are generally used for Multi-ball, a discipline where several balls are used to create pyramids of balls or also to give the impression of "sliding" the balls around each other. The larger acrylics are generally used to give striking visual effects with a ball (isolations, ball rolling on the body etc...).
Safety instructions: Acrylic balls are powerful magnifying glasses, be sure to protect them from the sun and not to leave them lying on your sofa next to the window for example !
Crystal balls:
Why do people sometimes call it crystal ball? And how is acrylic a different material? Acrylic is stronger than glass, and stronger than crystal. It is difficult to tell the three apart because their refractive indices are very close. The glass is 1.5, that of rock crystal is 1.55 and finally, that of acrylic is 1.49. In fact, the optical properties of these 3 materials are very close.
