La Maison de Nina is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. As you walk through the door, Nina will greet you, and her contagious energy will make you fall head over heels for the circus world that has surrounded you since you first walked through the door. We're in the old port of Marseille , so come in with me, let's explore and soak up the atmosphere.
Equipped with professional equipment, the school offers workshops led by a professional, dynamic, and friendly team. You'll soon meet the team: Manon and Mehdi, the school's artists and teachers.
Welcome to Nina's house.
It's much more than a circus and theater school. It's a space of freedom where everyone is welcome and where art is accessible to all. You will learn from others and pass on your knowledge in turn ... Here, you learn to become a fulfilled and confident citizen, capable of living in harmony with others. By fostering a critical eye and free expression, the school allows everyone to find their voice and flourish in a caring environment.
In this place, creativity and inventiveness are welcome ! Here, learning is focused on the creative dimension of the circus , theater and magic, enough to make the eyes of young and old shine. Practitioners are encouraged to express their passion through acts, exercises and performances of which they become the authors. Each child is unique and has the opportunity to develop their skills at their own pace, in a caring and stimulating environment. At La Maison de Nina, we do circus , but above all we make stars appear in children's eyes !
Do you want to discover the fascinating world of the circus? Here, we introduce you to circus language so you can work your body in space. But that's not all! You'll also learn to understand and accept instructions, manage your emotions and energy, while pushing yourself on the ring. And then, you'll discover plenty of incredible disciplines like juggling, balancing, acrobatics, aerial work, magic, and theater.
La Maison de Nina offers a unique and enriching experience for children as young as 6 months old, as well as adults of all levels, who wish to develop their skills in the dance and performing arts. The school emphasizes the concepts of "being," "appearing," and "living better together," allowing each person to discover themselves differently and maximize their potential.
I am a child of the ball, I grew up in the magical world of show business. I have been lucky enough to live on stage since my early childhood. I worked very early as an artist, in France and abroad (Germany, Guinea Conakry, Lebanon, Morocco...), and I was trained as a circus teacher very young by my teachers who hired me in their structures to supervise workshops.
The transmission of my art was a real love at first sight. I felt the desire to share my craft through its history, its anchoring in memory and the collective imagination, I use the dance floor and the stage as a complete cultural and artistic vector.
Aware of this power of the circus, theatre and magic, I focus my learning on the creative dimension, I question my students and I give them the opportunity to express themselves and to embody in acts, characters of which they become the authors.
After several years spent at Nina's house, many of our students wish to move towards an artistic future. After 5 years of training, students who have the level and who are invested with an artistic sensitivity can enter the troupe level . This troupe has existed for more than 12 years. In the sardine ring, the students are a dozen, hand-picked, between 9 and 20 years old. They have complete training as a modern circus artist. Training, circus, theater, magic, ring setting, sound and light technique... and participate in numerous shows, outdoor events, artistic projects for the Paca region.
The students experience the life of a circus troupe with joint projects, they also work with many outside artists (Andre Bouglione, Aurelia Cats, Pamela Pantoja, Alexandre Romanes, Markins family...) who come to share their experiences and talents within our school. They have the chance to live unique experiences. They had the opportunity to work within circuses as artists, as technicians, through to the position of ring boy. A great adventure...
We have opened a preparatory class for a year. This professional class aims to train selected students, through audition by an exceptional jury, to a higher level. This class is for young people who make circus arts their future project. It allows us to support them in preparing to present their acts in numerous international festivals; or for some, to prepare them for the entrance exams for higher schools of Circus Arts . Its objective is to acquire the fundamentals of circus arts , to understand the artistic, creative aspects and the demands of the profession of circus artist.
I advise keeping in mind the passion and the taste for effort. The circus is a difficult world which demands a lot of demands but the happiness of living from one's passion is priceless. I advise training from a young age and discovering all the arts, dance, theater, circus, music... and joining a school which transmits the passion for circus arts .
La Maison de Nina always has plenty of future projects. We want to expand and open other locations... We would like to eventually offer our own shows with our artists and continue to dream with our eyes open.
